- Describe your app in a sentence and pick one of the free icon ideas. Generate it, refine it with AI edits, and check it at home-screen size. Then download one zip with every size for the App Store, Google Play and the web. No design tools needed.
- How do I make an app icon with AI?
- Yes. Your app icon doubles as the logo, and the AI icon generator also makes standalone logo marks and favicons from a text description.
- Can I make an app logo too?
- Yes. You can use your icons in personal and commercial apps, websites and projects.
- Can I use the icons commercially?
- One zip with an Xcode AppIcon.appiconset (including iOS 18 dark and tinted icons), Android adaptive, round and themed launcher icons for every density, a Play Store 512, favicons and a web app manifest. Plus the 1024 × 1024 source PNG, and an SVG when you pick the vector style.
- What files do I get?
- Yes. Make variations, or change colors, backgrounds or details by describing the change in plain words.
- Can I edit an icon after it’s made?
- Yes. Describe what your app does and who it is for, and we suggest three concrete icon ideas for free: a literal symbol, a character or metaphor, and an abstract mark. Pick one, edit it, or draw one option of each.
- I don't know what my icon should show. Can you help?
- Yes. Add a reference image to steer the look of your icon. It works with every style except vector.
- Can I start from an image?
- The first Standard guided round is free (3 credits). After that, credit packs are a one-time purchase: $10 for 100 credits, $25 for 300, or $45 for 600. No subscription. A guided round shows three options for 3 credits (6 with the Premium model), a single generation or edit costs 1 (2 Premium), and every action shows its cost before you spend.
- How do credits work?
- Yes. Drop the asset catalog into Xcode and the res folder into Android Studio. No resizing tools needed. Dark, tinted and Android themed versions are in every zip.
- Does it work for iOS and Android?
- You will get a picture. You still have to fix baked-in corners, check it at 60 px, mask it for each launcher and export a dozen sizes. We do that part.
- Why not just ask an AI image chat?
- Yes. A seasonal pack turns your icon into editions for Christmas, Diwali, Ramadan, Lunar New Year, Black Friday and more, picked for your markets, at 1 credit per icon. The download groups them into app updates with a ship-by date for each. Variant presets also make alternate icons and store listing tests.
- Can I make seasonal or holiday versions of my icon?
- No. Credit packs are a one-time payment. Buy more only when you need them.
- Is it a subscription?
- Both use the same image model. Premium renders at a higher quality setting for finer detail, at twice the credits. The guided flow starts on Premium; you can switch to Standard on the first step.
- What does Premium mean?
- Yes. Every pack comes with a 100% money-back guarantee. Write to support@appicons.ai.
- Can I get a refund?
- No. The store-ready pack — Xcode AppIcon set with iOS 18 dark and tinted icons, Android adaptive, round and themed launchers, and web favicons — is free with every icon you make.
- Is the iOS and Android export pack extra?
- Yes. New accounts get a free credit to draw their first icon at preview quality. Any pack unlocks Standard and Premium quality and three options per round, starting at $10 for 100 credits.
- Do new accounts get free credits?
- Every icon downloads as a store-ready zip: Xcode AppIcon.appiconset with iOS 18 dark and tinted icons, Android adaptive, round and themed launchers, favicons and a web manifest, plus the 1024 × 1024 source PNG. Choose the vector style to get an SVG as well.
- What file formats do I get?
- You don't have to. The export pack includes an Xcode AppIcon.appiconset, Android adaptive and round launcher icons for every density, a Play Store 512, favicons and a web app manifest. Drop them into your project.
- How do I turn it into iOS and Android icon sizes?
- Yes. Describe the change in plain words, such as "make the background dark blue", and AI editing applies it to your icon. You can also remove the background or start a new icon from a reference image.
- Can I edit an icon after it is generated?
- New accounts get a free credit to draw their first icon at preview quality. After that, credit packs are a one-time purchase: $10 for 100 credits, $25 for 300, or $45 for 600. A standard generation or edit costs 1 credit and the Premium model costs 2. A guided round with three options costs 3. There is no subscription.
- How much does it cost?
- Yes. Switch the type from App Icon to Logo to get a standalone logo mark on a simple background instead of a full-bleed app icon.
- Can it make logos as well as app icons?
- No. Since Xcode 14, an iOS app icon needs one 1024 × 1024 image. Xcode generates the iPhone and iPad sizes when it builds your app, and the pack is set up that way.
- Do I need to make every iOS icon size?
- The light/any icon follows the App Store's technical rules: a 1024 × 1024 PNG with no transparency and no rounded corners. Apple also reviews the design itself, so avoid copying other brands' logos.
- Will the App Store accept the icon?
- iPad uses the same AppIcon set, so yes. An Apple Watch app has its own icon set in Xcode; you can drop the same 1024 × 1024 source image from the pack into it.
- Does it work for iPad and Apple Watch?
- Yes. Every zip includes iOS 18 dark (transparent background) and tinted (grayscale) versions in the AppIcon set, listed in Contents.json the way Apple documents. You do not spend an extra credit for them.
- Does it include dark and tinted icons?
- Yes. Icons you generate can be used in personal and commercial apps, including apps you sell on the App Store.
- Can I use the icon commercially?
- Since Android 8.0, launcher icons are made of a foreground and a background layer, each 108 × 108 dp. Each phone masks them to its own shape, such as a circle or a squircle. Only the middle 72 dp is guaranteed to show, which is why the pack keeps your artwork inside it.
- What is an adaptive icon?
- Yes, for Android 7.1 and older, and for launchers that ignore adaptive icons. The pack includes legacy and round PNGs at mdpi, hdpi, xhdpi, xxhdpi and xxxhdpi.
- Do I still need the PNG icons?
- 512 × 512 pixels, a PNG of 1024 KB or less, uploaded as a full square. The pack includes it as android/play-store-512.png.
- What size is the Google Play icon?
- Yes. Every zip includes a monochrome layer for Android 13 themed icons and wires it into the adaptive icon XML. You do not spend an extra credit for it.
- Does it support themed icons?
- You can, but you would start from a flat image and adjust the padding yourself. The pack is already laid out for adaptive icons, so you only copy the folders in.
- Can I use Android Studio's Image Asset tool instead?
- Put the Christmas icon in an app update that is live by Dec 11, 14 days before Dec 25. An app can only switch to an icon that is already inside the installed version, and store review plus the time people take to update both need slack.
- When should I ship a Christmas app icon?
- Each seasonal icon is an alternate app icon in your asset catalog. Your app calls UIApplication.shared.setAlternateIconName with the icon's name on the day, and setAlternateIconName(nil) to go back. iOS shows the person a short notice when the icon changes.
- How do alternate app icons work on iOS?
- Each icon is an activity alias in AndroidManifest.xml with its own launcher icon. Your app enables the alias for the holiday and disables the default with PackageManager.setComponentEnabledSetting. Some launchers move or remove the home-screen shortcut when the alias changes.
- How do seasonal icons work on Android?
- No store switches it for you. Your app checks the date when it runs and switches the icon. The pack's schedule.ics lists each switch-on and switch-back date, and the README has the Swift and Kotlin code.
- Can the icon change on the date by itself?
- 43 dates across 9 regions: Thanksgiving (Canada), Children’s Day (Brazil), Halloween, Día de Muertos, Diwali, Singles’ Day 11.11, Thanksgiving (US), Black Friday & Cyber Monday, UAE National Day, Hanukkah, Christmas, Boxing Day sales and more. Remembrance days are listed so you can plan around them, but never get a festive icon.
- Which holidays are included?
- Yes. You start from the icon you already ship and choose what must not change, such as the character, the shape, your colours or your lettering. You draw one real sample and see it at 60 px before making the rest.
- Will the seasonal icon still look like my app?
- Yes. Every seasonal icon ships with iOS 18 dark and tinted versions and an Android 13 themed monochrome layer, at no extra cost.
- Do seasonal icons include dark, tinted and themed versions?
- 1 credit per icon. The first sample is 1 credit and you pay for the rest only once you like it. Downloading the pack is free. Credit packs start at $10 for 100 credits, paid once, with no subscription.
